Kund Caste, Somogyfajsz

This year, the Hungarian Painters' Society's "Eco-Palette" artists' colony, organized by Ilona P. Boros, made its debut in Somogyfajsz. I was delighted to accept the invitation, as it gave me the opportunity to get to know better and work alongside colleagues whose painting is closely connected to nature and the landscape. The setting—the unique atmosphere of the 19th-century Kund Castle, the endless tranquility of the park and the surrounding area, and the constantly shifting light—set the rhythm for our creative days. The shadows cast on the castle walls inspired my watercolors: the movement of the foliage, the shifting tones throughout the day, and the rich texture of the wall. From these fleeting yet memorable moments emerged the paintings in which nature and the built environment—imbued with the spirit of the place—engage in a dialogue with one another in a slightly different way than in the works I create in my studio.

Participating artists: Vera Brecz, Zsuzsanna Büki, András Kecskés, Márton Magyari, Ilona P. Boros, Ottokár Szentes, Csaba Szegedi, Erika Balla
